1. About Us

We are a start-up venture from Chennai, India, venturing into energy storage using the latest in battery technology. We use LiFePo4 (Lithium Iron Phosphate) native battery to create large capacity standard batteries for use in Home, Business and Industrial environments. ********** 2. Thank You We appreciate your support immensely, for owning one of our products and showing your faith and support in our ability for delivering a world-class product. ********** 3. Do's & Don'ts 1. Do not short circuit the battery terminals. They may cause fire and damage to the battery itself and other vital components of the battery. 2. Do not use the battery for Electric vehicles as they are not designed to discharge large amounts of currents instantaneously. This may overheat the battery and damage it and will not be covered under the normal product warranty. 3. Do not drop the battery or handle it roughly. Use it with care. 4. When transporting the battery, cover the terminal with an electrical cap or insulator tape to prevent short-circuiting, which may result in a fire. 5. Do not open the battery cover because that will make the manufacturer’s product warranty null and void. ********** 4. Safety As we mentioned earlier, our batteries are based on LiFePo4 chemical composition which is highly stable and safe and does not catch fire even under extremely rough conditions, unlike its lithium-Ion battery cousins.

5. Certifications

The cells used to manufacture the batteries are BIS (Bureau of Indian Standards) certified during their sourcing from China. ********** 6. Battery Life Lithium batteries typically last very long provided they are used correctly and not misused by the user. Typical LiFePo4 battery can last anywhere from 7 to 10 years and beyond with 80% of their capacity still intact. ********** 7. Comparison with Lead-Acid 1. Lead Acid is heavy and clumsy. A 150Ah will weigh around 52kg while 60Ah LiFePo4 battery weighs 7.4kg. 2. As a thumb rule, 60Ah Lithium Iron Phosphate battery is equivalent to 150Ah (2.5X60) of Lead Acid. 3. In 60Ah LiFePo4 battery, 57Ah (>95%) is usable while in similar Lead Acid only less than 50% (i.e. approx. 25Ah). 4. In the first 6 months Lead Acid loses 50% of its capacity and after 1 year 80%. While LiFePo4 will retain its 99% capacity for 10years and 80% of charge capacity beyond that. 5. No maintenance for LiFePo4 batteries. Lead Acid needs frequent replenishment of distilled water and sometimes dilute sulphuric acid ********** 8. Quality Assurance Since this start-up is in initial phases and even beyond, every feedback by our customers will be treated with exceptional care. Every battery is manually tested for good workmanship and overall quality.

9. Product Warranty

1. Our batteries are quality tested before it is delivered to our valued customers. Nevertheless, just in case if there is a product component defect, we shall cover our products under one year in warranty under which the product components (excluding the BMS) shall be replaced free of cost, provided there are no signs of misuse by the customer, external physical damage to the cells. 2. The BMS (Battery Management System) used in the battery shall be covered under 6 months 100% replacement warranty within the first 6 months of 1 year warranty, provided there are no signs of misuse by the customer.      3. In the second and third years, the customer will receive free service from us and they have to pay for the cost of the replaced product components if done locally by our technicians. If the product needs to be recalled then the customer need to pay the nominal courier charges as applicable. 4. Product warranty will be null and void in cases of lightning strikes during thunderstorms.·        5. The warranty will start from the date of receiving the product by the customer. Volfdieccaa Systems once again would like to thank you dear customer for choosing our product and hope to serve you to the best of our ability with quality products and post sales service.

10. Battery Efficiency

The efficiency of the battery depends on various factors like internal resistance of the overall battery and that comes from the sum of the resistance of the battery plus the resistance offered by the electrical conductors used, quality of the terminals used and finally the quality of the connections. Higher the internal resistance of the battery more will be the energy lost due to (i^2 R) where R is the internal resistance of the battery and it is the current flowing through the battery. If there are loose ends then energy will be lost due to sparks and over-heating. Finally, it amounts to the quality of the UPS used. A lot of energy stored in the battery gets lost due to heading in the transformer of the UPS, among the electronic components of the UPS, connecting wires and soldering joints.

11. How to Install the Battery

If you are buying both the battery and the UPS at the same time then please make sure that the lugs provided by the UPS manufacturer are able to fit Into the terminal bolt correctly. Sometimes the bolt may be 8mm or 10mm in diameter. If the lug on the UPS connecting wire has 8mm hole then the technician need to widen the hole to fit on to the battery terminal bolt. When unscrewing the battery bolt, use two 17 number spanner/wrench to loosen or tighten the upper terminal bolt only as shown in the picture above by the red arrows.

Make sure the lower terminal bolt is not loosened. Special care need to be taken by the technician. Refer to the picture above. ********** 12. Limitations & Problems of Lead-Acid Battery The lead-acid battery was invented in France in 1859 by physicist Gaston Planté. Though in the last more than 150 years the battery has been serving the world, to store energy when not needed and releasing when required or providing electricity at a remote location when generation is out of the question. Typically Lead Acid is not designed to be in a state of no charge or partial charge because it will self-destruct due to “Sulphation” or dissolution of electrodes in the sulphuric acid during the heavy or excessive charge-discharge cycle. Then there is an issue of logistics because it is too clumsy. The energy to weight or energy to volume ratio is very low.

Typically the battery should last for 3-5 years but in practical field application, it demands a lot of maintenance due to which the useful life is rarely beyond 1.5 to 2 years. By design lead, acid cannot be discharged beyond 50% and if it’s done, its life will drastically get reduced due to Sulphation of its negative electrode and corrosion of its positive electrode after every charge-discharge cycle or being in a partially discharged state. Then during charging or increase in ambient temperature, the acid specific gravity changes or amount reduces due to evaporation of water and acid. Hence by within two years, the battery’s life is reduced by 80%. Charge capacity of a 60Ah lithium battery will be equal or more than 150Ah of the lead-acid battery. A typical 60Ah lithium battery will weight 7-8 kgs while 150Ah lead-acid will weigh more than 50 kgs. ********** 13. Appreciation Congratulations for owning a Volfdieccaa battery and we appreciate and thank you for having shown your faith & confidence in our product.

14. Unique Selling Proposition (USP) of Lithium Iron Phosphate(LiFePo4) Battery

· Lithium weighs only 1/4th than that of the Lead-Acid battery. · Lithium battery has a very high charge density and power to weight ratio. · In Lithium batteries, the usable capacity is more than 90%. E.G. If we have 100Ah then 90 to 95% is usable. Lithium batteries have large charge-discharge cycles of the order of 2000-3000 times in practical applications. Which translates to a life of 7 to 10 years and beyond with 80% of its charge capacity still intact. · Over a period of time Lithium batteries are very economical and cheap due to their “ZERO” maintenance design, even though their initial cost may be higher than the lead-acid batteries. That gap too has narrowed due to the advancement in production and affordable battery chemistry. · VOLFDIECCAA SYSTEMS has ventured to use the capability of one particular chemistry in Lithium known as LiFePo4 (Lithium Iron Phosphate) which is non-combustible, safe to handle over a wide variety of applications and cheaper to produce and own. LiFePo4 battery is a viable substitute to the lead-acid whose end of the lifecycle has come, after having played a long glorious inning serving mankind.
